MICU 18, Rescue 18, and Car 18 responded to vehicle on fire over the embankment off East Third Street and Northway Road early Memorial Day, May 31, 2021. MICU 18 found vehicle over the small bridge covering Miller’s Run on its side and on fire. Rescue 18 arrived and crew advanced for fire extinguishment and rescue of occupants sill trapped inside the vehicle. 2 victims were pronounced dead on scene by Lycoming County Coroner’s Office. Roadway was shut down in the morning during investigation by Pennsylvania State Police and for clean up by certified hazmat team. Assisting organizations involved with the incident include: Williamsport Bureau of Fire, Montoursville Volunteer Fire Company, Lycoming County Coroner’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, and PennDOT.
