A resident at Bing's Motel on Lycoming Creek Road, Loyalsock Township, safely escaped her guest room when a fire broke out early this morning. The resident reported that she woke up to smoke around 5AM. Fire started in a 30x60 foot structure which housed two guest rooms at the front of the motel property.
Crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the roof. An initial attack was conducted following search for any additional tenants. Crews from City of Williamsport, Old Lycoming, Hepburn Township, Duboistown, Montoursville, Woodward, Jersey Shore, and Trout Run assisted in extinguishing the morning blaze. Fire was established under control around 5:50 A.M. Pennsylvania State Fire Marshal and Loyalsock Township Codes were requested and expected to be on scene later this morning. This morning's incident is still under investigation.
