On May 11, 2025 three of our members, Firefighter Stephanie Tempesco, Captain Richie Caschera, and Captain Daniel Rumsey completed and graduated from the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy’s Officer Command Program. This particular training consisted in over 40 hours of both classroom and fire ground command simulations for a variety of incidents that could take place in our community. Specialized course topics included: command / operational strategies, volunteer and career interviews / promotions, standard operating guideline and procedure development, and leadership development skills. Classroom portion of the course allowed for great collaboration amongst other volunteer fire companies in the region who look to strengthen the fire and emergency medical services in their community. Sharing resources such as operating procedures, volunteer recruitment and retention strategies, and solutions to common organization and local government political obstacles in the community. At the conclusion of the course, members walked away with tools and strategies to help organize, streamline, and shape our organization into the future.
