On June 4, 2020 at approximately 4:20pm, Station 18 was dispatched to 1250 Pennsylvania Avenue for a reported home on fire. Loyalsock Volunteer Firefighter and Company Vice President Bill Miller and two neighbors rescued an elderly man from his residence moments after it caught fire and before crews arrived. Lycoming County 911 Center quickly communicated to the responding crews that resident was confined in the home back bed room. Miller and two neighbors assisted the home owner as Engine 18 arrived on scene. Crew found light smoke condition inside and found the fire to originate outside. Fire traveled up along the side of the home and was placed under control by Chief 2-18, Paul Lester in approximately 10 minutes. Special thanks to our mutual aid companies (City of Williamsport, South Williamsport, and Montoursville).
